over the last 7 years i have witnessed ups and downs in our animation and VFX industry. I feel we have both good and bad elements in our industry like any other industry but in my thinking we should at least do these two steps to improve our situation
1. First and most important thing is FILTRATION at animation colleges. We should filter among the students and only encourage those who has real artistic essence in them. We need artists not people with software knowledge.
2. Second is our business model - I have been practicing the outsourced model for past five years and understood that working only on outsourced model will only serve you bread and butter. Nothing more than that. But IP creation is risky, so at this time we need a blend of two. Our own original content and IP creation is the key.
Hope related people will consider these and we will have a smiling industry again. Industry can live long and strong only if Artists, Production houses and Audience all are happy.
